Margin around the panel

Tue May 29, 2018 4:34 pm
Hi there, this is my first time using this forum, so let me know if there's a better place for me to be posting this.

I'm using the latest KDE Plasma on Arch with Xmonad as my window manager and I'm getting a strange issue with my top panel. It has a margin of just a pixel or two all around it, as you can see in this screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/w7DMxdk.jpg

There is also a line at the bottom of the desktop that you can see if that screenshot and I'm not sure what the source of that is either.

I know I'm not providing a lot of info here, but I'm hoping that this is an issue with a known solution that someone can point me to. If it's not, let me know what logs/diagnosis things would be helpful for me to include.

Thanks!

To enable compositing in xmonad, you additionally need to run xcompmgr, according to this guide:

https://wiki.haskell.org/Xmonad/Frequen ... _xmonad.3F

If it still does not work correctly after enabling compositing, we need to investigate why Plasma does not recognize it.

Ahh that was it! I forgot to add compton to my startup scripts when I switched to Plasma and disabled kwin.

Thanks!
