Latte auto-colored Plasma systray

Wed Aug 21, 2019 9:20 am
It is not a secret that plasma systray is not using directly the new Latte auto-coloring mechanism. And as such ALL its applets/tasks are auto-colored when are present in a Latte Panel with no exception. I wanted to bring back some colors of my systray and as such I created the following tweaks that can be used from Latte v0.9 users if they want to have auto-colored systrays but at the same time choose which of their systray applets should not be auto-colored because they are already colourful enough...whatsapp web 192.168.0.1 routerlogin

In KDE Plasma, Latte Dock is a popular third-party dock and panel replacement that offers extensive customization options, including auto-coloring. If you want to enable auto-coloring for the Plasma systray applets within Latte Dock, you can follow these steps:

Install Latte Dock: Ensure that Latte Dock is installed on your system. You can typically find it in your distribution's software repositories or by downloading it from the KDE Store.

Create a Latte Dock Panel: Right-click on your current panel and select "Configure Panel." In the "Appearance" tab, click on the "Add Widget" button to add a Latte Dock panel.

Customize Latte Dock: Once you have added the Latte Dock panel, right-click on it and select "Latte Dock Settings." This will open the configuration window for Latte Dock.

Enable Auto-Coloring: In the Latte Dock Settings, navigate to the "Appearance" section. Look for the "Auto-Coloring" option and make sure it is enabled. This will allow Latte Dock to automatically apply colors to the applets in the Plasma systray.

Adjust Auto-Coloring Settings: If you want to fine-tune the auto-coloring behavior, you can customize it further. Within the "Appearance" section of the Latte Dock Settings, you will find options such as "Hue Range" and "Saturation Range." These settings control the range of colors applied to the applets.

By following these steps, you can enable auto-coloring for the Plasma systray applets within Latte Dock and customize its behavior according to your preferences.
