I have a second monitor attached and positioned to the left of my laptop (the primary monitor).
Each time I select a sub menu (i.e. Office in the image below) from the application menu it displays to the left and onto my second monitor, making it difficult to read the menu items (but obviously not in a screen shot). Here's an image of the Application Menu - the second monitor area begins at the left of the K-menu. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1QzOSan ... sp=sharing Is there any way to make the sub menu items display or cascade to the right instead of to the left as shown? |

That looks weird indeed. Doesn't happen on mine, but the left screen has a different size and resolution, might be related.
Which exact Plasma version and distribution do you use?
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Did you defined the laptop as primary display (check 'kcmshell5 kcm_kscreen') ? |

Hello Mamarok, I'm currently on Kubuntu 18.04 LTS with KDE Plasma 5.12.9. I'd been on 14.04 past it's EOL and decided to switch to the new LTS just last week - so far, this has been the only annoying problem .
And Raphaelra, yes, the laptop is defined as the primary monitor. Thanks for the mention of 'kcmshell5'; I had always accessed these individual settings via the System Settings. Do either of you know where the config files are located for the widgets and panels? I'll try poking around that area. |

You should define the screen with the panel as the primary monitor, that should solve the spilling to the left.

Isn't it the case that the panel is always shown on the primary screen? |

So the screen with the panel is already the primary monitor. As a temporary workaround, I switched from "Application Menu" to "Application Launcher" - I'll try to locate the config files and see what I can come up with. In the meantime, I have a workable solution. As a test, I added a second Application Menu, Task Bar, etc. to the top of my primary monitor to see if the menus cascaded left still - they did, and so that's when I decided to use the launcher instead.
By the way Raphaelra, you can actually add panels and widgets to the secondary screen as well; look for the menu icon normally at the top-right corner of your screens. |

I know you can add more then one panel, but isn't it so, that the first panel (or when you have only one) is allways on the primary screen ? On my box, the panel is moved to when i change the primary screen ... |

This happened to me on Ubuntu 22.04 running Plasma 5.27 after installing a second monitor. I was able to right click the taskbar and "Enter Edit Mode". Once in this mode, you can adjust the size of the taskbar by dragging the left and right side in/out. I pulled this in 1 pixel and it stopped opening on the wrong (left) monitor.
