I am running KDE Plasma Version 5.18.2, Frameworks 5.67.0 on OpenSuse Leap 15.1

I am attempting to change the printer configuration default settings in System Settings, Printers Configuration in KDE. It allows me to select the new options I wish, IE. Print Quality High and Ink Set Matte Blank (Epson R3000 Printer). When I click Apply/Ok I am prompted for my user password which I enter and is accepted and the screen returns to the Printer display. However, the settings are not saved, they always revert back to the defaults used at the time of system installation.

My user ID is added to the lp group so that I can manage print jobs, which works fine.

I know I can go in the Yast and update the system settings for the printer there, but what's going on with the KDE Printer Config tool?

Thanks for any input.
