Minimization animation

Tue Nov 25, 2008 1:25 pm
If I set graphical effects to "off" in the control panel, an animation when I minimize windows disappears completely (KDE 4.1.2 / kubuntu 8.10).
And there is no a simple animation like KDE 3.5.x, - a window just disappears and I can't find how to make a not opengl minimize animation.
Turning off graphical effects is required for my notebook that have integrated video (I think the asus eee, for example can't animate all KDE 4 effects fluently too).

I think the KDE team needs to check KDE 4 animations on a slow computer, at least with integrated video chipset, like Intel GMA.

Running Desktop Effects on Intel integrated graphics is fine. I have a X3100 ( GM965 ) and they work perfectly. Granted, I do not use multiple desktops so I have never used cube, but I have used all the Alt + Tab ones, etc.

I do believe under Advanced Options, there may be an option for XRender, but I run trunk/ and they have definitely redesigned that area.
