Emojis are in black and white

Fri Mar 27, 2020 1:58 am
Earlier today they were perfectly fine, but out of nowhere they went into black and white mode
Image
I do have the noto-fonts-emoji package installed, and as I said, they were working perfectly earlier today.
Is there any way to fix this? I

A few more details about your exact Plasma version and which global theme ou use, as well as the application you show a screenshot from would be useful. Doesn't look very Plasma-like at first sight...

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

Sorry, forgot to mention that
I'm on Plasma 5.18, Global theme is McMojave and the application is the new Emoji Chooser from KDE

But the issue is not just with the emoji chooser, its globally
Discord lacks emojis that are not in the chat area
Chromium also lacks emojis
Basically everywhere

Neither Chromium nor Discord are KDE software, why would we be to blame?

If you say they were fine earlier, what did you change, was it an update or a theme change?

Keep in mind if you choose other Themes than the default ones this is again not our doing if something goes wrong, whenever a 3rd-party theme causes problems you should contact the author of the theme. Your screenshot shows lacking icons as well, I doubt this is an actual Plasma problem, as it shows correctly here with the Breeze Dark theme.

I mention them since they use the system's emoji font
They stopped appearing after a system update and I can't recall exactly after what package they stopped working
And yeah, they were working with this theme perfectly since I've been using it practically since I installed Manjaro KDE

I was already assisted via Reddit. Thanks anyway!

Could you please give a link to it?
