Display resolution

Sun May 17, 2020 5:05 am
Hello
I just installed kubuntu today.
But everything is in 1024*768.
and my display is wide so it shows some black borders around the free space

my question what can i do to keep everything in 1280*800?
Now I am using xrandr command everytime i log in .That is annoying
Is there any solution?

I presume you talk about Kubuntu 20.04, no problem with having the settings stay correctly in System Settings -> Hardware -> Display and Monitor -> Display Configuration for both my screens with their individual settings saved, session saved on logout.

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...
