Same problem here. The issue seems to be there is no code to process when backlighthelper fails to find a backlight interface. It just ignores it and continues to activate the service.

Code: Select all
# journalctl -b -1 | grep powerdevil | grep backlight
Jun 28 11:03:05 archmain org_kde_powerdevil[2666]: powerdevil: No outputs have backlight property
Jun 28 11:03:05 archmain dbus-daemon[440]: [system] Activating service name='org.kde.powerdevil.backlighthelper' requested by ':1.48' (uid=1000 pid=2666 comm="/usr/lib/org_kde_powerdevil ") (using servicehelper)
Jun 28 11:03:05 archmain backlighthelper[2775]: powerdevil: no kernel backlight interface found
Jun 28 11:03:05 archmain dbus-daemon[440]: [system] Successfully activated service 'org.kde.powerdevil.backlighthelper'

Then, the service fails when it can't find it:

Code: Select all
Jun 28 11:22:47 archmain org_kde_powerdevil[799]: powerdevil: org.kde.powerdevil.backlighthelper.brightness failed
Jun 28 11:22:47 archmain org_kde_powerdevil[799]: powerdevil: ""
