Ha! Got it!
I do not really know how, but: I had only two windows open: first systemsettings in fullscreen, then opened Konsole which 'overlapped' the systemsettings-window. Then opened gimp. It switched to the next virtual desktop where gimp started fullscreen, than back to the first one, showing a third of the gimp window without a taskbar. So I think there is a bug in combining layouts. Didn't read much of the code though. |

Just checking if there are any updates on this bug?

This isn't only happening with GIMP, but with GTK apps as well. I can replicate the same error with Filezilla, Sublime Text and Inkscape. Global menu bar is just missing for these apps unless I switch workspaces/windows. Not quite a super-serious bug, but for sure it's annoying.
Does anyone know what's the proper place to report this? |

As it happens while using the KWin-tiling-script I would report it there.

Maybe here? (Select Component: Global Menu) https://bugs.kde.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=plasmashell BTW, I assume you don't use KWin-tiling-script, don't you? |

[/quote] Nope, only "Desktop change OSD" is enabled. I did install kwin-script-grid-tiling though, a few months ago. I ended up uninstalling it. Maybe it modified some setting that causes this bug? I'm fairly sure I've been experiencing the same bug long before I installed the script. Edit: I was able to replicate the same issue with a clean home folder. Only happens with GTK apps though, Qt apps show their menu entries just fine. Edit 2: This has been reported previously, please see https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=422786 As of now this is still not fixed, and is in fact a regression. It might be fixed in the next KDE release, but who knows. For those "I use arch BTW" users, here's you go: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/plas ... w-appmenu/ Fixes the issue and has even more options than KDE's global menu implementation. So far so good. |

Of course not. Scripts should not work that way.
That's good to know it has been reported awhile ago.
I tried it about a year ago and it didn't work very well, so I ended up uninstalling it. I'll wait for the fix above. Thanks for your feedback. |

I am also experiencing the same problem in Kubuntu 21.04 on every GTK app (chrome, sublime text, Gimp etc.) . I even shared a post on Reddit, but no one cared. Here is link of my post. It has screen video. link:https://www.reddit.com/r/kdeneon/comments/h874hs/i_have_global_menu_issue_like_this_is_there/ . This problem appears since Kubuntu 18.04 but no one works on it . Time to switch another DE..
