In the Desktop Folder Settings, and in the Location Tab, I can choose for the Desktop to show: a) Desktop folder b) Files linked to the current activity c) Places panel item or d) a Custom location.
Turns out, I don't want any of that. I want my Desktop to show only my wallpapers, and nothing else. I tried to put a custom location pointing to an empty folder, but it doesn't work: the home folder shows up. This problem is new and came with the last LTS update (20.04). Previously, I never had icons on my desktop. Do you have a solution for this? |

Your Desktop is set to Folder View, right click on the Desktop -> Configure and choose the Layout "Desktop"
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Thank you very much, that was easy.
