Hi,
I am a Kubuntu user and have just started using 2 * 24", 1920*1080 monitors. The issue that I am having is that when I boot with both screensconnected the size and proportions of the font, icons and taskbar go awry. Notice how large the menu, the in header of the browser and the size of the window is: https://ibb.co/gjQWtTZ https://ibb.co/G7NZV10 I can avoid this issue if I plug in the 2nd monitor once the computer is fully booted. This image shows the regular settings for my dual monitor setup: https://ibb.co/2d0PDdv I've fiddled with Font size and monitor scaling and that didn't seem to make a difference. Thanks in advance. P.S. Is it possible to upload images directly from a computer to a post? (I'm new here) |

Which exact Kubuntu and Plasma version?
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

I can't reproduce this here at all (Intel Graphics), could be an issue with the graphic card. What graphic card and driver do you use?
FWIW: NVIDIA in particular is known to have issues on Linux with its proprietary drivers, the best results are usually with the Nouveau drivers.

I appreciate your engagement with my issue
You are correct, I am using an NVidia graphics card (GeForce GT 730). When I try switching to the Nouveau driver I get the following error message: pk-client-error-quark: The following packages have unmet dependencies: libnvidia-encode-440: Depends: libnvidia-encode-450 but it is not going to be installed libnvidia-decode-440: Depends: libnvidia-decode-450 but it is not going to be installed (268) In terminal I have run: sudo apt-get install libnvidia-encode-450 libnvidia-decode-450 But apparently they are already the newest version. I imagine that this is related to why some areas of the desktop look like this when I wake my computer from Sleep: |
