I'm trying to bind my BT headphones' play/pause button to Ctrl+^. I'm using settings→workspace→shortcuts→custom shortcuts→edit→new→global shortcut→send keyboard input. I can't figure out what to enter in the action section. I tried "^", "acute", "circumflex", "asciicircum", "dead_circumflex", "0x005e" and some others, all with various capitalisations. "^" works for just entering that character, but "Ctrl+^" doesn't actually do what it is supposed to do on my system. The other strings don't work at all.
Is there a list of keys that KDE understands in that place? I got "asciicircum" from xmodmap, https://docs.kde.org/stable5/en/kde-wor ... uts-action only mentions the simple cases like "Shift+a" and some others are from https://gitlab.com/cunidev/gestures/-/w ... -key-codes. Context: VLC reacts to the shortcut I've set in it as a global shortcut, but not to the media play/pause key. So I want to simply bind the media play/pause key to Ctrl+^, which is VLC's play/pause key. I don't really need it anywhere else anyway. |
