Ever since I installed Discover, a process called DiscoverNotifier is forced on my system and secretly opened up whenever I log in. I say secretly because I can’t find its startup action anywhere: It’s not in Autostart nor listed in Background Services, whereas Discover offers no way to turn it off in its settings either. Can I get rid of this process without having to uninstall Discover entirely?
The reason it’s annoying is because I use Pamac for updates: This keeps creating an extra icon in the system tray which also prints update notifications. I installed Discover because it’s an important KDE component and an useful tool to have on a system when looking for software, but I don’t want it checking for updates. |

Open the SystemTray (click on the up arrow), right-click on "Update" and select Quit.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

That works but it opens back up whenever I restart and log in. Was wondering how it could be disabled permanently. |
