Dear community,

I use Kubuntu 21.04 with KDE Plasma version 5.21.4.

With a newly created user, Meta+E is a shortcut for Dolphin per default. Though, Meta+E opens krunner searching for "e" as it is the case for Meta plus any other letter I type.

Searched the web but did not find a working solution (like setting Meta= in the [ModifierOnlyShortcuts] section of ~/.config/kwinrc). Also tried Generic and Logitech keyboard in the KDE settings.

Defining my own shortcut does not work either: entering Meta+E for the shortcut locks the keyboard (no key input possible any more).

Any help to make the Meta+ shortcuts work would be highly appreciated.

In the meantime I installed other packages, run update-desktop-databases several times, and edited the KDE start menu. Meta+E magically started to do what it was configured for. The issue does not exist any more but I cannot say what exactly made it go away.
