Using cntl+F1..F4 to switch VTs broken?

Suddenly, I cannot switch virtual desktops using cntl+f1 through cntl+f4 the way I do reflexively (and wow, is it a habit!) on Fedora 34 using kde 22.5 on my Dell Inspiron. The cntl key works appropriately for everything else, the function keys seem to work fine by themselves and with the fn key, so it seems just the one function normally assigned to VT switching is gone.

System Settings -> Shortcuts -> kwin -> switch to desktop X seems to be set properly, and restoring defaults seems to have done nothing.

And I just discovered that cntl+f11, which used to show the desktop cube, doesn't work either.

Short of re-installing, is there any way to restore the switch VT functionality using the cntl key?
Thanks

What did you change? This should just work unless you made modifications to the shortcut settings.

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...
