Font size issues in Arch

Sun Jan 23, 2022 8:53 am
Hi,

I've been having problems with font sizes in Plasma in the last couple of updates. They are oversized in some applications, e.g.: Dolphin, all window title bars, ...
I haven't changed the font size, it's set to 10pts as it was before and displayed OK. It first happened a few days ago, then got back to normal with the next update, but the problem is back now.

I'm on Linux 5.16.2-arch1-1 x86_64.

I tried editing QT_SCALE_FACTOR* variables, a bit blindly, TBH, both putting them in my `.xinitrc` and changing them in `.config/kdegobals`. They don't seem to affect anything.

Any ideas what may be going on and how to fix it?

Cheers

I managed to fix it removing the block
Code: Select all
[KScreen]
ScaleFactor=1
ScreenScaleFactors=DP-0=1;HDMI-0=1;DP-1=1;eDP-1-1=1;

from my .config/kdeglobals file and setting

Code: Select all
export QT_AUTO_SCREEN_SCALE_FACTOR=0
export QT_SCALE_FACTOR=0.5

in my .xinitrc.
This seems a bit of a hack, and I still have some font issues. What is the proper way to fix this?

Thanks
