Qt: 4.4.3
KDE: 4.1.81 (KDE 4.1.81 (KDE 4.2 >= 20081128)) Hi, I wonder if there is the way to change the color of shadows with kwin shadows effect? Default color is, sort of, glowing blue, which doesn't quite fit with lighter backgrounds, and especially with all plasma themes except default oxygen. Thanks in advance. ![]()

System settings -> Desktop -> All Effects -> Shadow, click the configure button on the right.
Check the three checkboxes on the right and it will force all shadows to use the settings on the left. |

Thanks Zarin, I've been thinking the same way but, it doesnt seem to work. I guess it is a bug. (Just don't tell me I have to logout/in for it to take effect
![]() Here's a shot : Maybe a manual config in kwinrc (where) will do ?

It doesn't look like the shadow effect is actually applied, since KWin is using the non-compositing border-color for the windeco. But then that would be a bug too. :P

You have to change the Stribe-Colour, if you don't like the "ugly" Blue shadow:
Systemsettings > Appearance > Colours | Colours > *Active Titlebar I love the blue shadow, but I hate the 1px border around the window, when I turn off the desktop effects!

KFreak, thanks, but that didn't help either. I'm quite convinced that a bad svn checkout might be the problem. I'll try updating, usually helps.
