Two 4K monitors have a gap when scaled with xrandr

Hi Guys,

I'm trying to get dual 4K monitors to play nicely with xrandr.

I know I can do this easily on wayland, but a bunch of other stuff just doesn't work on wayland yet, so I'm stuck with X for the moment.

I'm using the following xrandr stanza

Code: Select all
xrandr --auto --output DP-1-2 --output DP-1-1-2 --auto --scale 0.9999x0.9999 --primary --right-of eDP-1-1 --output eDP-1-1 --pos 0x0 --mode 3840x2160 --scale 0.8x0.8

Which scales them nicely and sets them up where they should be, but, the vue port is 7680x2160 which leaves a gap between the monitors (I'd put up a screen shot of what NVIDIA X server Settings shows if I could).

Is there a way to set the vieport size after the scaling (I think that's what the problem is) to fix this? Its a minor problem I grant you, but I'd love to make it work.

Ta.
