is there any reason for having powerdevil for desktop pc? |

General energy savings from turning of the monitor(s) when idle, as well as being able to have automatic suspending for conserving a bit more electricity.
Also for UPS usage, to extend battery time, as well as to safely shut down the machine when there is a power outage. One can remove this, if they really want to. tl;dr: yes.
