Hello,
There are two features that have made my desktop experience a lot smoother, and which I miss in KDE. First is automatic tiling, like in AwesomeWM. It automatically manages my screen estate. Second is window tabbing, as in Fluxbox. It allows me to put several windows in one, and switch between them using tabs. Has there been any development towards such features in KWin? Any usable results available? |

I originally started writing window tiling support for KWin a while ago but due to time constraints I had to drop it, what I had completed is available in the work/kwin-grid branch in the SVN. Bug report: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59338
For tabbing I recently announced a $500 bounty to whoever implemented the feature. Further details at: http://www.undefinedfire.com/kde/500-kwin-bounty/ |
