Hi --- I am new to the forum.

I have been running KDE 4.2 Beta2 thru Kubuntu 8.10 for about a day now --- since getting the latest KDE I see a small transparent window which seems to show system-activity (or something similar). It is located in the top-right hand corner of the screen. It is non-responsive so I can not close/exit it. I can click on the windows underneath it as if it is not there at all. It depicts the number "100" close to its top.

Did anybody experience such an arrogant little window --- what should I try to do?

Cheers,
Isix

This number is from KWin's 3D effects. I believe it is called "Show FPS". KWin 3D effects can be managed in System Settings > Desktop > Desktop Effects. You will need to untick "Show FPS" under the "All Effects" tab and Apply the settings to remove it.

To disable it, navigate to KMenu -> System Settings -> Desktop -> All Effects, and uncheck "Show FPS" as bcooksley pointed out.

Thanks a lot. I did the uncheck --- now I will go sleep a happy guy. Cheers.
