I can't find a Gtk control center outside of System Settings.. Hm.. I did go ahead and delete them and reselect VistaBut as my theme from System Settings anyway, logout, restart X server, and log back in. I'm not absolutely sure, but I think it may look a little different.. Since I last wrote that message I also installed a gtk engine, pixbuf, which changed some things. I'm not sure what the engine did.. It was a suggestion from another post I found about this issue (not from these forums). I honestly feel bad for taking up any more of your time! I'll just give up for now. :P Really, you rock!

No problem. ( GNOME Control Center is not installed by default in Kubuntu should be available in Adept )

I use System settings to configure kde4's settings, kcontrol for kde3's settings and gtk-chtheme to change gtk2 theme. With qtcurve i did not use "Apply colours to non kde4 applications" which fixes issues i had when i ran synaptic through kdesu.
