I have found one problem in new KDE 4.2 - I am not able to open system settings as normal user and modify KDM settings. In KDE 3.5 thare was a button "Administrator mode" which allowed me after entering root password to modify KDM settings. There is nothing like that in KDE 4.2. Or did I miss anything?

run > kdesudo systemsettings

This will ( hopefully ) use PolicyKit in KDE 4.3, so no hacks are required ( KDE 3.x was a XEmbed hack I believe )

@The Recorder I am not using sudo in Gentoo - but of course I can run systemsettings from root konsole, or maybe kdesu could be used somehow but this is not a solution I like

Yes. It was on the Feature Plan for KDE 4.2 but is left as TODO. There is also a bug report with many votes.
