Hallo community,

in general I am happy with KDE 4.2... THANK YOU FOR THE GORGEOUS WORK, the environment runs on two Toshiba laptops as supposed, I did not experience problems others have (although I have to warn to use 11.1).

I was aware about the problems caused by ATI graphic adapter, however I was a bit silly and to fast to switch a desktop wit ATI adapter from KDE 4.2 kwin to compiz...

sadly the result was a white screen after log in... :undecided:

I should have known better...

How to solve this... knowing that everything is based on text based configuration files there is a way to switch the system back to kwin. No problem...?! Of course not!

I could not remember the thread this information was in nor I have an idea about the directory and name of the responsible configuration file...

If anybody can give me a hind where to find and change back to kwin I would be more than happy! Thank you for your assistance.

Maybe $KDEHOME/env or $KDEHOME/config/ksmserverrc
