I have re-install debian unstable recently, and seem to have lost the effect that grays out the desktop. This effect occurs when logout/shutdown is chosen, and the desktop "shadow" drops from the top of the screen to the bottom.
I think I can safely say that I am lacking a package somewhere, after having thoroughly checked all my settings in the control panel. To support the assumption that I am lacking a kde package when I choose logout from Kmenu, I am "booted" out of X and met with the login screen, and have to choose reboot/shutdown from the dropdown menu on the login screen. OS: debian unstable KDE: 3.5.10 Graphics: Nvidia driver 180.22 Kernel: 2.6.28 Thanks in advance! |

A simple apt-get purge kdm, and re-install seemed to have done the trick.
