That is a shell script. You are not able to change the icon of a shell script.
Instead, you should place that script in ~/bin, then create a link to it from New > Link to Application from any file manager. You will then be able to change all aspects. The new menu is available by Right Clicking in any File Manager ( incl. Folder View )

You cannot change the icons for Symbolic Links. They have to be links created through the New > Link to Application since they are *.desktop files.

oh... in that case.. What's a Symbolic Link? What's a .desktop file? |

Symbolic links are usually created in a terminal, with "ln". They are file system level.
Desktop files are used to find plugins, applications, mimetypes, plugin types, etc. These have the most flexibility.

If you drag applications from Kickoff etc., you can choose "Copy here" instead of "Link here", because the "applications" in the application menu are actually .desktop files.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I've created a link via the menu on my KDE 4.2 desktop. In the properties page, the icon button is clickable, and I can browse the "system" (known to system) icons available in my system for assignment - but after pressing OK, the "?" icon remains on it's place. Is it another bug of KDE 4.2? Yes, I'm able to fix the .desktop file manually or browse through catalogues to /usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/apps/ for example, but it definitely is not the way it should work.
Is there any way to fix the icon assignment capability? The machine I've installed my Mandriva 2009.1 with KDE 4.2 is targeted for a unqualified user, used to windows ease-of-use, and I'd prefer this small matter to be solved beforetimes.

It worked for me on my KDE Trunk system. Please ensure ~/.local/ is writable.
