Color depth drops after xscreensaver engages

I can notice a very slight difference in what appears to be the color depth of the desktop after a xscreensaver runs. It does the on both of my systems running KDE 4.2 on FC10. One AMD64 64bit and the other P4 3.4ghz 32bit. Bith have the same patch levels.

Can this be explained? Can it be fixed?

I had it happen some time ago to me but it does not anymore. Try upgrading your NVidia driver.
