What do you mean? in both kde3 and kde4 when an application is installed and it's an app with a GUI then an entry will appear in the menu for it, how is kde4 any different?

sorry for my bad english
i will try to describe better my question :

In kde 3.5 it had a special entry for recently installed applications , so you did n't need to search in kmenu to find the application that you just installed

Ah, I see. I only use the classic menu, don't know much about kickoff.
