...Have there been any docs prepared along these lines for KDE4? ie along the lines of the tricks and tips article in the wiki for KDE3.5. Searching has revealed little - maybe I have the search parameters wrong.
I am trying to do things like change the kmenu (simple launcher) icon size. kde3.5 is MenuEntryHeight=* in kickerrc but cannot find anything for kde4. I have been playing with plasma-appletrc (customIconSize=*) but no joy. Using FolderView on the panel for kmenu folders (things like Office, Internet) is a little tedious. Are there any Widgets that enable these folders to be placed on the panel easily? And, is there a configuration setting that will stop Dolphin "Places" panel icons from scaling (and fixing them at a specified size) if the panel is made larger. Cheers Gentoo + KDE-4.2.3 |

The KMenu icon size on the panel is governed by Plasma automatically and cannot be set by the user, other than changing the height of the Panel. The size of the icons in the menu itself should be changeable within reason.

Thanks,
I was wanting to change the menu icon size (not the panel icon size) for the simple launcher, but I cannot find the answer to the "how" question. Currently I am stuck with 16px icons on a 125dpi screen - normally I would use 32px. Cheers |

It could be following the global KDE icon settings, which govern most icon sizes throughout KDE.

Hmmm.... I haven't been able to make one bit of difference playing with globals (while restarting KDE between changes).
FWIW, these are the pages that I alluded to in my first post. http://wiki.kde.org/tiki-index.php?page ... figuration http://canllaith.org/articles/kicker-hacks/ Cheers |
