Graphical glitches on Yakuake theme

Fri Jul 31, 2009 1:06 pm
Hello folks,

I've been working on a theme for Yakuake that intends to mimic Plasma's Air theme, and I'm having some odd graphical issues. Originally, everything was fine, but in the tweaking stages, I forgot to update the transparency level of the images comprising the titlebar corners; after I did, the bottom half of the corner images stopped being drawn. :/ Furthermore, they aren't there at all, as I can click through them to other windows. This is happening on both my Arch and Ubuntu machines, using Yakuake v2.9.6 and 2.9.4, respectively, and I really have no idea what's wrong. All the other themes I have tried work flawlessly, although when switching from my problematic theme to another one, the bottom corners are filled, but with garbage - until I click into the Konsole. My theme files (final and SVG sources) can be found here, and I'd appreciate help getting this sorted out, so that I can release it properly.

Thanks
- Jeffery

You could perhaps ask Eike Hein (yakuake maintainer) about it. You can find with the nick "Sho" on the #kde-devel IRC channel on the Freenode network.

I talked to Eike, and IIRC was told that this issue would be resolved in KDE SC 4.4, although the description was a bit over my head at the time. Would someone running trunk mind testing the theme and letting me know if it renders properly? This slipped my mind for months during school, but if it will now work, I might put in some time to tweak it a bit more and make sure it looks good.
Thanks,

I checked with the latest version of Yakuake's code available from anonsvn ( since svn.kde.org is down at this time ) and I could see the holes in the bottom corners you described.

Yakuake svn revision 1072550.
KDE Libs svn revision 1074618.
KDE Base svn revision 1074597.

Running Trunk ( to be 4.5 )

Thanks for the info - I may have to bug someone about that again. :)
