Hello all, first post at the new forums
![]() I'm running KDE 4.1.2 on arch linux. My problem is that all KDE3 applications I use, use the default KDE3 theme and I can't find an option to change it from somewhere. Is there an easy way to do that?

Try running kcontrol, which will bring up KDE 3's settings.

Unless Arch has a package with KControl, there isn't an easy way to do it as far as I know. This goes for any distro.

Ah, right. Arch removed KDE3 from their repos.
Well, you could try using kcontrol from KDEmod, if you really wanted to. Not sure how to change the theme without using a GUI (although I really should know...).

If Arch packages the KDE3 version of kcmshell (which is separate from kcontrol) then you can run "kcmshell style"

Running kcmshell --list lists zero modules and I can't find kcontrol. I guess I could try with the kdemod package, but I'm afraid that maybe things will get messed up if I mix kde4, kdemod3 and their repositories together. Anyway, I can live with the default kde3 theme, thank you for your answers
