I was using the Glassified KDE KDM theme and splash screen when I upgraded to KDE 4.3. The KDM updated to the new 4.3 Air KDM, but the splash screen is still the one provided by Glassified. Regardless of whether I select the default splash screen or Glassified under System Settings, it still shows the Glassified one (System Settings actually shows Glassified as the preview for the default, also). Is there a way for me to either 'restore' the 4.3 KDM theme or install it from somewhere?

If you try under a new user, does this occur?

I don't know how to create a new user to login under, but I think I saw where you were going. I copied the theme folder from root, but it still didn't work until I changed the theme's name from Default. Still, it works. Thanks for the nudge in the right direction.

This happened to me as well. I found that just deleting the old Glassified background from the kde cache did the trick. You can find it at "~/.kde/cache-compname/ksplashx/Default-WWWxHHH-background.png", where compname will be the name of your computer and WWWxHHH will be the width and height of the background you were using. Give it a try and you may be able to remove the redundant theme files from your home directory.
