I am playing with kde-4.3 color settings, like this:
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y103/m ... _color.png notice that "View Background" is light-green and "Window Text" is white. The interesting thing is when I open emacs(-gtk), it looks like this: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y103/m ... _color.png so, it somehow took the "View Background" as text bg and "Windows Text" as text fg color. I don't have anything GNOME installed. I am interested in any tips to let emacs plays nicer with kde?? |

This is a bug in KDE's Gtk integration. This needs to be reported to the appropriate developers, assuming you have installed the qt-gtk-engine.

If you open the Colors KCM, ensure "Use KDE colors in non-KDE applications" is unticked. It appears that the translation of color values does not always work.

Thanks. But this options is working for me with other apps, such as firefox. So, I think I will keep it for now. I understand the situation now. Just wondering if I can fix it from emacs side. |

Unfortunately I do not know if this is a bug in EMacs ( for hardcoding / using incorrect colour profiles ) or in the KDE colors module. Please file a bug report anyway, so the developer concerned can investigate.
