screen resolution problem

Mon Oct 12, 2009 11:33 pm
Hi,
I'm running kde 4.3.2 on mandriva 2009.1 with a normal screen resolution of 1440X900. I tried running a game, dungeonhack, but I could not exit the game properly and had to reset the Xserver. Now when I log into KDE the screen starts at 1440X900 but then switches to 1024X768. How do I fix this this? What file in KDE causes this change? Thanks for any help?

The KDE application responsible for changing the resolution is called KRandRTray.

Apparently this app is not on my system and when I tried to install it, the
system says no application by that name....Is there a different way to start
it?

KRandRTray may also be known as krandr, and should be available if you have the 3 modules listed in System Settings > Display. Make sure you have the kdebase-workspace package installed.
