I have tried searching, but could not find a way to change the background in Dolphin's "Detail View" from blue and white stripes to just plain white. Or, at the very least, tone down the blue to a much lighter shade.
I have trouble seeing the text on the dark blue stripes. Any suggestions or hints? Cheers! jimk |

The colour is controlled by the Colour Scheme currently in use.
System Settings > Appearance > Colours.

Searched and searched and finally found it. 1. Open "Configure Your Desktop" (System Settings Icon with crossed spanner & turn screw.) 2. Select "General" tab. 3. Select "Appearance" icon. 4. Select "Colours" from side panel. 5. Select "Colours" tab in colours menu. 6. In Colour Set drop down menu select "View" 7. Set "Alternate Background" to white. 8. Press "Apply" button. Dolphin details view is now set to all white background. Default alternating blue and white stripes are now gone. Cheers, all! jimk |

I guess I have a concern with the detail in dolphin similar to that mentioned by jimk.
I cannot quite understand why the text describing permissions, size, date, etc. is considered 'inactive text' and set in the respective (hard to read, low contrast) color. Subjectively, even a white background doesn't help me much in terms of readability). Sure, I can change the 'inactive text' settings in application appearance, but I consider this information very active for me (otherwise I'd have picked icon view or the like) and the 'inactive text' setting makes a lot of sense for other applications in other contexts. So I guess, I'd vote for the dolphin GUI developer(s) to reconsider the classification of the detail view secondary text as 'active text' instead of 'inactive'. |

I would recommend filing a bug report at bugs.kde.org to get that issue attended to.
