configure kdesktop

where are the config files saved for configure kdesktop, the wall paper and etc dialog? kde 3.5.7
also is there a command to reload them?

KDE applications store their configuration in ~/.kde by default.

Unfortunately I don't have access to a KDE 3 system anymore... you should be able to find something on its dcop interface however.
