I have tried going back to everything oxygen as I had bespin before but to no avail.

EDIT: Forgot to say that after unlocking widgets a right click has the same effect as a left click which means I can't even delete the #$@!er

Okay, I deleted the search activity and I had control over the activity bar again, ergo: search does not yet play all that well with the rest.

If this was with KDE 4.4, and that Applet was shipped as part of KDE, please file a bug.
