(using KDE 4.4.0 on fc11. Oxygen theme. Have searched thoroughly but cant find solution)

If you have a desktop image with high colour variation this can affect visibility of fonts in translucent panel. So I tried to use a simple plain background to my panel without any transparency so the desktop theme is not showing thru panel.

Couldnt find option to change this at first. (The obvious place would have been on the Panel Settings menu> More Settings, but anyway) After a while I found it under
System Settings>Advanced>Desktop Theme Details

In there I can elect to use a background from any of the other themes installed. Or select a file... aha! made a png then jpeg and a gif. But selecting any kind of typical file (png jpg or gif) does not make a difference.

How can I just get a plain simple panel background (and leave rest of oxygen intact) please?

thanks very much for your time to reply
