With the new monochrome icons appearing in KDE 4.5.0, I would like to keep the system tray consistent. So, now I often set apps that appear on the system tray as hidden. However, when I restart my kde session, these settings are not retained. Any ideas how? Thanks

If you move the ~/.kde4/share/config/plasm* files elsewhere whilst Plasma is not running, are the settings retained?

Actually, after one restart, I found that the settings were kept. After "grep -i deadbeef ~/.kde4/share/config/*", I found out that the settings are stored in plasma-desktop-appletsrc as:
Code: Select all
[Containments][3][Applets][6][Configuration]
AutoHidePopup=true
DefaultAppletsAdded=true
Share=false
ShowApplicationStatus=true
ShowCommunications=true
ShowHardware=true
ShowSystemServices=true
ShowUnknown=true
alwaysShown=
hidden=KOrganizer Reminder Daemon,deadbeef,vlc
