Since KDE SC 4.5 it is finally possible again (thanks a lot!) to set the panel icon size in systemsettings. Finally I can have a panel with menu and application launcher icons in size 80x80, what a relief. Alas some important icons don't follow that setting so they stay at tiny 32x32 size. That doesn't only look odd but also it makes it harder than before to distinguish/recognize those icons.
In 4.4 I could very carefully drag the panel to a size where the icons reached a maximum size of something between 44 and 47 height. One pixel in panel size more and they jumped back to tiny 32x32 size. In 4.5 I of course overstep that panel height limit because I want bigger icons. So I end up with a mixture of 80x80 plus 32x32 icons instead of a coherent equal icon size of 47x47+-. So half of the icons in 4.5 is harder to recognize than in 4.4, the other half is better. Affected are the icons for the quickaccess widget (which for me is the most important part for I have 5 of them in the panel as individual submenus because the other options like lancelot component don't match my needs), the dashboard, the trash and I guess some other non application launcher icons too. Is there a trick, some hidden setting, to get all icons to respect the maximum size from systemsettings? Especially the quickaccess widget is important for me. |

Please file bug reports against the affected applets, as they are not displaying icons correctly.

Trash widget, showdesktop and showdashboard are fixed now, at least in trunk. Patch for quickaccess widget exists: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... bug/630879 (not only Ubuntu)
