System-wide "Places" customisation

Mon Sep 20, 2010 10:12 am
Hi there,

We are deploying in our group a customised Kubuntu image. Nothing special, just a selection of the standard packages + some small ones that allow everybody to automatically mount directories, printer setup, etc.

However, there is some customisation that, still, the users have to do by hand. One of this things is adding manually to the "Places" panel in dolphin/every file selector dialog some common directories that are auto-mounted from the server.

How can I add those directories to all the users automatically? I even tried to add them to the bookmarks.xml located in ~.kde/share/apps/kfileplaces. But didn't work. After installation, the home, root, "network places" and wastebin are added automatically. How can I add more? It should also work if the user profile is already created.

I couldn't find anything, that is why I ask.
