Recently I updated my FC13 installation to the last 4.5.2 version.
suddenly changed their outlook, but there are several that became unbearable:
1. The keyboard layout icon was presented as a flag. When I changed it to code (US,FR, etc...) it became almost unreadable - black background with almost black letters. I searched for the way to changes this, bit...
2. Some icons became... well, how i say it... childish... For example, the speaker icon became big and clumsy. But previously it was fine!
3. The icons order also changed from that I got used to very different.

Any comments will be appreciated...

Which version did you run before? In 4.5 the system icons are monotone (white) by default. For me the icon size depends on the height of the system tray, but sometimes I get big when e.g. the Device Manager icon shows up (likely a bug).

I upgraded from 4.5.1.

Yes, the icons were(!) white. But only were..

The bug you mentioned I also experience for about a year, but in my case the normal size restores after the system finishes its start process.

I studied the topic you mentioned and is puzzled...
First, $KDEDIR variable does not exist. There is $KDEDIRS one pointing to /usr, but there is not subtree mentioned in the link.
In mu home directory I do have all these dirs, but my default directory is empty, as others are. Instead, I have one ".customized1" directory with:

and widgets directory has many *.svgz files. But none of them is called *keyb*.
