I want make Kubuntu remix with another theme, icons, windows borders and wallpaper. Which file should I modify to set my own appearance?
In gnome I used gconftool2

PS. Why when I install additional window border and I use it, the buttons on borders are hidden?

With regards to the Window Decoration, it possibly doesn't provide those elements in it, leading to nothing being shown.

The needed files will be under ~/.kde4/share/config, in particular kdeglobals, plasma-desktop* and kwinrc

That is unusual. What is the output of "kde4-config --localprefix"?

Open Konsole, and type in:
Code: Select all
kde4-config --localprefix

Press enter, then paste the output back here.

You need to look for the mentioned files in ~/.kde/share/config instead then.

There is no still those files. Note. I don't have installed KDE on my system. I'm using UCK so Kubuntu files were copied into HDD and user account was not fully created for this copied OS. I don't want create user acoount because OS should be pure, without accounts.

There is not those files in / ? In GNOME file for default appearance is on /

under /usr/share/kubuntu-default-settings/kde4-profile/default/share/ you find the defaults. If you can change the wallpaper aso. locally and then merge in you configuration into the files under that directory.

Thank you, I found these files but...
There is nothing about wallpaper, icon theme, plasma theme.

KDE GLOBALS.
Code: Select all
[PreviewSettings]
UseFileThumbnails=true

[Toolbar style]
ToolButtonStyle=TextBesideIcon

[Emoticons]
emoticonsTheme=Oxygen

[Notification Messages]
:confirmNewSession=false

[General]
XftHintStyle=hintmedium
font=Ubuntu,9,-1,5,50,0,0,0,0,0
menuFont=Ubuntu,9,-1,5,50,0,0,0,0,0
desktopFont=Ubuntu,9,-1,5,50,0,0,0,0,0
toolBarFont=Ubuntu,8,-1,5,50,0,0,0,0,0
smallestReadableFont=Ubuntu,8,-1,5,50,0,0,0,0,0
taskbarFont=Ubuntu,9,-1,5,50,0,0,0,0,0

[WM]
activeFont=Ubuntu,9,-1,5,50,0,0,0,0,0

I opened kwinrc and plasma-desktop and there is nothing about plasma scheme etc.

KDE creates the files as needed. I suggest creating a temporary user to create a default profile.
Alternately, you can use Plasma's Javascript capabilities ( see techbase.kde.org ) to do this.
