Hi,
I am trying to post a question concerning KDE desktop on Suse Linux 11.3.

The problem deals with the system defaulting screen resolution every time I login.
The Suse splash screen is OK.
The Open Suse loading screen is OK
The login screen has really bad resolution
The user screen defaults to 720 x 400.

I change the resolution to 1280 x 1024 and all is good.
The next time I login, I have to repeat the process.

Any thoughts?

how are you changing the screen resolution?

what is the resolution in systemsettings -> hardware -> display and monitor -> size and orientation -> size ?

you should probably post your graphics card, driver and driver version

is this a new problem ? after a clean install? upgrade?

Thanks for the inputs.
I was using applications -> Configure Desktop ->Display to change the settings.
Evidently this is the session specific way to change things.

I went to applications -> System -> configuration -> configX11, and all is good.
This required root login to change the settings.

I'm still curious as to why the user settings still defaulted back to 720 x 400.
