How can I change the tooltip and context menu highlight color? Using KDE 4.6

Thanks in advance.

These colours are controlled by the colour scheme, which is set in System Settings > Application Appearance > Colours.

I can't find any settings in the color scheme options regarding menu and tooltip drop shadows.

Hints appreciated.

The drop shadow colour doesn't seem to be changable, however it may be taken from a colour named something else, such as Highlight. I suggest trying options until it changes.

You can use beshadowed, a third-party shadow plugin for kwin. It allows you to control the shadow color, and numerous other properties.

Thanks!
I've messed up around with BeShadowed and discovered that it draws a shadow over an existing one.

It appears that there's a Desktop Effects plugin called "Shadow" which does the trick. Exactly what I was looking for!
