Hi,

I am using a KDE 4.5.1 (Kubuntu 10.10) on an eMachines E725.

I really want to use this as the primary OS but I am having difficulty in controlling the display brightness, which is at maximum all the time. The Fn keys and the slider bar do not work. I have tried using setpci, but it doesn't work either.

My display driver is an Intel Series 4.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Looks like your system doesn't support the standard XBacklight methods of adjusting the system brightness unfortunately. You may find http://blog.manki.in/2008/01/more-linux ... tness.html to be helpful here...
