Can kde differentiate between key "1" and "KP_1"?

I was hoping to be able to use the keypad buttons such as KP_1 KP_HOME KP_UP etc. as shortcuts but the KDE shortcuts configuration dialogs can't seem to tell the difference. "1" on the keypad is interpreted the same as the normal "1" rather than as "KP_1".

xev reports them correctly (ie. KP_*) so it seems like this is a kde or qt issue rather than X, but I can't seem to track it down.

Is this something that just isn't implemented? Configuration issue of some kind?

I'm using kde 4.7.1 and qt 4.7.4.

Thanks in advance for any possible help!
