Hi,
I have ubuntu 11.04 with KDE4.7. In openoffice tooltips are very dark and thus almost impossible to read: ![]() I already deleted all plasma* in ~/.kde/share/config/, no difference. Also I have kdenlive and amarok running on my Ubuntu 11.04 desktop. Same thing. Do other people also have these dark tooltips? |

I'm guessing this is in libreoffice. I have the some problem. The default tool tips work great with qt and kde applications, but the libreoffice tool tips are barely legible.
I'm guessing the solution is to file a bug report with libreoffice.

no my tool tips are fine
you've got me a bit confused - what are you running as your desktop environment Gnome or KDE? if KDE are the 3 apps mentioned the only ones with this problem try erasing ~/.config/Trolltech.conf |

First to clear the confusion:
I have two cases. Case 1: Netbook running Kubuntu 11.04 with KDE4.7 and plasme netbook Case 2: Dekstop running Ubuntu 11.04 with gnome. But KDE libraries are installed to run amarok and kdenlive (btw amazing application). ============================== For Case 1 I get the dark tooktips only in openoffice. Kmail, dbus, Firefox, Dolphin, Amarok, Skype are all OK For Case 2 (and this I will have to check when I get home) I believe that the tooltips in both kdenlive and amarok are dark as described. I will post an update once I could verify this. Deleting Trolltech.conf (plus log off) did not make any difference |

Hi,
thank you for the collection of links. Fixed it on Ubuntu. But about Openoffice: If I use the recommended method explained here https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=123684 Post 3 (change tooltip background color to white). But then my normal tooltips, which is light gray on almost black, become invisible. So I will stick with black tooltips and file a bug report with LO. Many thanks for your help, markiing solved. |
