Desktop view

Sat Dec 31, 2011 2:12 pm
Hello ;=)

i'm looking for a way to suspend or hibernate my desktop pc :

in folder view widget , right click contextual menu offer a variety of ways to create shortcuts.
Which one suits best creating a shortcut to launch a command ?

for example :

suspend :
sudo /usr/sbin/pm-suspend or maybe kdesu /usr/sbin/pm-suspend

hibernate :
sudo /usr/sbin/pm-hibernate , or kdesu /usr/sbin/pm-hibernate

I would recommend 'Link to Application' for this.

"Link to application" will do the job - but do you not have "sleep" and "hibernate" in the KDE "Leave" menu? If not, does the Shutdown option have an arrow below it? - If you click and hold, you should see "Suspend to RAM" and "Suspend to disk" options in a dropdown.

It may be necessary to install the pm-utils package.
