I have just done an update - using kubuntu Onieric - and the applications tab in Kickoff is blank. How can I restore the applications to this tab please?
Other tabs appear ok but the search box does not work.

Please run "kbuildsycoca4 --noincremental" then logout and back in again.

Many thanks for your suggestion however on restarting to try that, all has been restored.
I have to say, why on earth did I not think of that earlier!
